Snug Account Migration

What is happening?
On Monday, May 24th 2021 older versions of Snug will stop working. If you received a text message that included a link to this page it is possible that you are still using one of these older versions of Snug to check-in.

Why are we doing this?

We are making this change so that Snug can continue to grow and evolve in the future. The biggest change is the introduction of a Snug account.

One of the benefits for you is if you buy a new phone, you won’t have to worry about going through the set-up process again. All you will need to do is log in, confirm your phone number, and you’re all set up on a new device.

This change also lays the groundwork to start our multiple check-in pilot.

What do you need to do?

Don’t worry - all you need to do is update the Snug App on your iPhone or Android.

If you’re viewing this web page on your iPhone or Android:

Daily Email Notifications for your Emergency Contacts

By default, contacts only get notified if you, the user, don’t check in.

A lot of emergency contacts want the option to be notified when their loved one checks in every day. Emergency contacts have told us that getting notified of successful check-ins (vs missed check-ins) would lower their anxiety and help them feel more connected.

This is your choice because your comfort comes first. You are in control.

If you are OK with your contacts being notified of every check in, you can approve that permission, and your contacts can choose whether or not they receive daily notifications. If that’s not helpful to you, your contacts will not be given the daily option, and will only be notified if you miss a check-in.

If you approve this, here is what your contact will get in an email when you check in:

  • Your Time of check-in

  • Your city of check-in (useful if you travel)

  • Your Quote of day

Do you want your contacts to have the option to know when you check in?

If yes, simply open the Snug Safety app on your device, open the Menu and tap on “Change Emergency Contacts”. On that page, you have the option of opting in.

If not, you don’t have to do anything! Your contacts will only be notified if you miss a check-in.
